Your tasks

Your activities in this position can be seen as a good introduction into the world of digital control since it is important in particular to understand the principles of control technology and to apply them to DC / DC converters.

  • Integration into the digital control of DC / DC converters
  • Set up of suitable test circuits
  • Generation of control algorithms in VHDL (voltage, current control) and associated test areas
  • Measurement of the control behavior (phases, amplitude reserve)
  • Demonstration of further improvement potentials in hardware and firmware


Your qualification

  • Matriculated student in the field of electrical or communications engineering
  • Safe handling of common MS Office applications
  • Basic knowledge in the programming of FPGAs in VHDL
  • First experience in simulation with ModelSim or similar programs
  • Good general electrotechnical basic understanding
  • Fun in theoretical and practical work
  • Commitment and independent work in the team are self-evident
  • Very good German as well as good English language skills are required


Start: from now or winter semester 2017/18

Duration: 4 to 6 months
