PI1281 – Backnang, 16.05.2017: When the countdown for the last of the four Inmarsat-5 satellites starts at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, it is just after 1 am Central European time. The engines ignite, the rocket lifts off, and shortly thereafter: frenetic cheers. The launch of the Falcon 9 rocket from the US space company SpaceX under the leadership of Elon Musk has been successful and the valuable cargo is on its journey.
PI1280 – Backnang, 27.04.2017: At 9:30 am, the curious young girls dived, or rather "were lifted", into the world of Tesat-Spacecom - taget destination: Outer Space. An introduction to the product world around and from Tesat by Petra Schumacher, Head of Strategic Management, deepened the understanding of the benefits of space technology. Furthermore she explained to the girls, which value the work from Tesat has for the environment, the nature and the whole world. Shortly thereafter a film presentation and a lecture followed, which took the girls by the hand and drew the big picture.

PI1278 – Backnang, 28.01.2017: With today’s launch of the SmallGEO satellite Hispasat 36W-1, OHB System AG from Bremen, Tesat-Spacecom from Backnang and further suppliers have once again raised the space travel location Germany to world-class levels.

PI1276 – Backnang, 06.07.2016: After a distance of 2,800 million kilometers and a flight duration of nearly five years, spacecraft “Juno” finally reached its destination: the orbit of Jupiter. Its objective is it to explore the gas giant and gain new insights about the solar system and its emergence.
PI1275 – Backnang, 10.06.2016: As part of the 50th anniversary of the Institute for Communication and Navigation of the DLR, Prof. Pascale Ehrenfreund, CEO DLR, and Andreas Hammer, Managing Director Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG, signed yesterday in Oberpfaffenhofen a cooperation agreement on collaboration in the field of free-space optical communication technologies for space applications.
PI1274 – Backnang, 02.06.2016: With the help of the Laser Communication Terminal (LCT) from Tesat-Spacecom yesterday, 1st June, two images - taken by the Sentinel-1A satellite - were transferred via laser link. The EDRS-A relais satellite sent the images of the Sentinel fully automatic to the Mission Operations Center at Airbus Defence and Space in Germany, who received them in the time span of one minute. The motive of the photos was the island La Réunion and its costal region.
PI1273 – Backnang, 29.02.2016: ALast Friday, Backnang's high technology company awarded its coveted supplier award for the eleventh time. From around 1,100 active suppliers, about 400 suppliers are in a constant supplier evaluation. Five companies were awarded this year for their outstanding performance in the field of quality and delivery reliability.
PI1272 – Backnang, 04.02.2016: On January 29, 2016, the first laser node of the European Data Relay Satellite System (EDRS) was successfully launched into the orbit on board a Proton missile at 11:20 pm Central European time. The Eutelsat 9B telecommunication satellite reached its destination at around 36,000 kilometers above the equator after a nine-hour flight time, where it is now subjected to in-orbit tests.
