Supplier Award 2015

On February 20th, 2015 the Tesat Purchasing and Quality Management department awarded four companies for outstanding cooperation in 2014. The supplier prize was awarded to the companies Mielenz GmbH CNC Technik, Matthias Meidlinger GmbH and Pacific Wave Systems Inc., while the innovation prize went to Wolf Ingenieurbüro Präzisionsmechanik.

All these suppliers are lastingly involved in the success of Tesat and were awarded prizes for their flexibility, reliability and their entrepreneurial courage. This primarily means taking the requirements of customers like Tesat seriously, improving the processes and ultimately also providing financial resources to further qualify their own employees.

Tesat has introduced several improvements in the last two years to support the meeting of these requirements. First, procurement planners were introduced with the task of implementing the production requirement data so that the necessary individual parts are available at the correct time. This is intended to avoid the peaks in the upstream positions, such as the receiving inspection and electroplating, which occurred in the past and to enable the suppliers to smooth workload peaks. In addition, a technical link between the suppliers and the design departments was created. Among other things, this person contributes to reducing the number of complaints resulting in receiving inspection. These measures already led to marked improvements in delivery reliability and quality in 2014. For example, in 2014 there were approximately 30 percent fewer complaints in receiving inspection.
